Abengoa México ensures gasoline supply in Mexico City
The new Pumping Station Beristaín, located in the north of Puebla was opened on December 22. It boosts gasoline from Tuxpan to Azcapotzalco, fundamental process for gasoline supply in Mexico City. It is the most modern plant of the pipeline transportation system that Pemex Refinación has, which will serve as a prototype for the future plants to be built in Mexico. The project was built from the green field and consists of two 4500 hp turbo pumps for suction and discharge, 12 buildings, implemented centralized control, fire protection systems for triple redundancy, microwave and satellite communications, paging systems, cctv, intrusions infrared control access, and civil, electrical and mechanical infrastructure for its operation. Additionally, a 4.3 km/18” diameter interconnect pipeline was built. The project was developed in 15 months on a 4.5 hectares area and it will expand gasoline transport capacity to Mexico City at 160,000 barrels/day.
